About the Tour / Guided Visit

If there’s a natural space near the urban area, it’s the Marjal of Peñíscola. Stroll through a wetland area, listed in the Register of Sites of Community Interest (SCI), located very close by.

Take in the “ullales”, or freshwater springs. In this Marjal there are dozens of freshwater upwellings that end up coming together in the Riu de Peñíscola, after flowing through these flat, marshy lands.

Step into a building with a Catalan vault, typical of this area. The Catalan vault is built without beams, using solid bricks to form an arch. This construction style was used by the architect Guastavino in the buildings he designed in the United States.

Travel back in time to an early-20th-century country house, with all its accessories: farming tools, harvest products, the farmers’ clothing, period furniture, paintings and a book or two. And finish with a refreshing tasting of artichoke craft beer.
