We will meet in front of Chiringuito de Pepe, the setting that recreates the popular Spanish series.
From there we will head to Playa Norte, where we will recreate the spectacular filming of a true Hollywood classic, El Cid, embodied by the legendary Charlton Heston, riding triumphantly through its waters after the conquest of the Muslim city of Valencia.
But who was El Cid really? Did you know that this filming would forever change the silhouette of Peñíscola and make it into the Guinness Book of Records?
After that, we will move on to the monumental Plaza de Santa María, featured in up to 3 episodes of the famous series Game of Thrones.
In this spectacular filming, Peñíscola was transformed into Meereen, the free city of slaves that was liberated by Daenerys and where the Battle of Meereen took place.
After visiting the slave market filming locations we will climb up to the Paso de Ronda, refuge of Tyrion and Lord Varys and where both witness the burning of the naval fleet.
After passing through the formidable Portal Fosc we will enter the Artillery Park, a beautiful natural setting, where new characters such as Missandei and Grey Worm appear.
Our tour will continue through the highest part of the citadel, the Plaza de Armas, where we will recover the traces of various legendary Spanish film productions, such as Berlanga’s Calabuch or París Tombuctú…
Without forgetting series like Chiringuito de Pepe or Ministerio del tiempo.
We will end our Cinema experience on the central Calle Mayor, in the tapas area par excellence of the walled city.
